Our client is seeking a Traffic Design Engineer (PE) to support transportation projects within either their Orlando (preferred), Punta Gorda, or Tallahassee offices in Florida. This role is focused on delivering technical traffic design solutions, with particular emphasis on state-level standards and systems integration.


Our client is a specialist engineering consultancy delivering transportation and infrastructure design services. They work across roadway, traffic systems, and infrastructure improvement projects, supporting public sector clients with technically rigorous and safety-focused solutions.


responsibilities.

  • Develop traffic design plans including signals, lighting, ITS, and electrical systems

  • Apply state-specific design standards and guidelines to project delivery

  • Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on roadway and infrastructure projects

  • Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Support project delivery from concept through to construction documentation

  • Provide technical input on traffic operations and system performance

  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to resolve design challenges


qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred

  • 6+ years of post-graduate experience in traffic or transportation engineering

  • Demonstrated experience in traffic design (signals, ITS, lighting, or electrical systems)

  • Strong understanding of state DOT standards and procedures

  • Experience with ITS or other specialist systems considered advantageous

  • Strong communication and coordination skills


salary.

$95,000 – $115,000 (flexible based on experience and specialist expertise)
