Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex data center site development projects in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is suited to a senior engineering professional with extensive experience managing large-scale mission-critical developments from early planning through construction support.
Our client is a multidisciplinary engineering and infrastructure consultancy delivering innovative civil engineering, land development, and site design solutions across commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors. The successful candidate will help drive the continued growth of the organisation’s data center market presence while leading technically demanding projects for high-profile clients.
responsibilities.
Lead site and civil engineering design for large-scale data center developments
Manage project delivery from feasibility and planning through construction support
Oversee grading, drainage, utilities, erosion control, and stormwater management design
Coordinate project budgets, schedules, staffing, and risk management activities
Prepare and review technical reports, studies, specifications, and construction documentation
Lead permitting coordination with local authorities and regulatory agencies
Build and maintain strong client relationships within the mission-critical and data center market
Support business development initiatives, proposals, interviews, and market expansion efforts
Mentor junior engineers and technical staff to support professional development
Coordinate with multidisciplinary internal teams and external consultants throughout project execution
Ensure quality control and compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements
qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or actively pursuing licensure
Minimum 10 years of site/civil engineering experience with significant data center project exposure
Proven experience delivering hyperscale or colocation data center developments
Strong understanding of land development permitting and regulatory processes
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with stormwater management, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and SWPPP compliance
Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills
Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
Willingness to travel as required for project and client needs
