Our client is seeking a Land Development Practice Lead to drive the growth and performance of its land development practice in Orlando, Florida. This senior leadership role will oversee major residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects while building strong relationships with developers, municipalities, and regional stakeholders.


Our client is a multidisciplinary engineering and infrastructure consultancy delivering civil engineering, planning, and development services across a wide range of markets. The successful candidate will play a critical role in expanding regional operations, mentoring teams, and delivering high-quality land development solutions throughout Central Florida.


responsibilities.

  • Lead the strategic direction and operational growth of the land development practice

  • Develop and maintain relationships with developers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and major development projects

  • Oversee delivery of complex multidisciplinary land development projects

  • Manage project financials, schedules, staffing, and risk mitigation activities

  • Ensure technical quality and compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering and project management teams

  • Promote collaboration and continuous improvement across project teams

  • Support resource planning and operational efficiency initiatives

  • Maintain strong client communication and ensure high levels of service delivery


qualifications.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive land development engineering experience

  • Proven experience leading residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects

  • Strong understanding of Central Florida development and permitting processes

  • Demonstrated business development and client relationship management skills

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex project portfolios

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational abilities

  • Ability to mentor teams and support long-term practice growth
