Our client is seeking a Water Resources Technical Manager to join its growing water resources and green infrastructure team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role offers the opportunity to lead innovative stormwater and environmental infrastructure projects that improve water quality, sustainability, and resilience across public and private developments.
Our client is a multidisciplinary consultancy delivering engineering, environmental, and planning services across a variety of infrastructure and land development sectors. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor design teams, and contribute to the delivery of complex water resource and green stormwater infrastructure projects.
responsibilities.
Lead technical delivery and coordination of water resources and stormwater infrastructure projects
Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers, designers, and technical staff
Manage project resources, schedules, and technical quality across multiple assignments
Develop innovative stormwater management and environmental protection strategies
Prepare and review construction drawings, technical reports, specifications, and design calculations
Coordinate with permitting agencies and regulatory reviewers to support project approvals
Collaborate with planners, landscape architects, and civil engineers to integrate stormwater solutions into broader site designs
Support projects involving watershed studies, stormwater retrofits, parks, greenways, campuses, and mixed-use developments
Conduct site visits and field investigations throughout planning, design, and construction phases
Assist in resolving technical and design challenges during project execution
qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field
Minimum 7 years of experience in water resources, stormwater, or civil engineering design
Experience with stormwater infrastructure, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, and watershed planning
Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar civil design software
Strong understanding of stormwater regulations, permitting, and compliance requirements
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to lead teams and mentor junior technical staff
Professional Engineer license preferred or ability to obtain licensure within a short timeframe
