Our client is seeking a Wastewater Engineer (PE) to join their Indianapolis team. They deliver sustainable infrastructure solutions that support safe, reliable wastewater systems for communities across the region. This position gives you the chance to shape critical wastewater infrastructure, support sustainable design, and mentor developing engineers. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams in a flexible setting focused on advanced problem-solving and long-term system performance.
responsibilities.
You’ll take the lead on technical design work for wastewater collection systems, including complex engineering reports, specifications, and contract documents. The role involves planning and coordinating project phases with multidisciplinary teams, monitoring performance and progress, and helping ensure projects stay efficient, cost-effective, and on schedule. You’ll also provide technical guidance and review support to junior engineers.
qualifications.
A bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering is required, along with at least four years of experience in wastewater or related engineering fields. Familiarity with technologies such as activated sludge, oxidation ditches, SBR systems, lagoons, or similar processes is expected. Knowledge of wastewater design software and proficiency with tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office are important. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. Strong communication skills, QA/QC knowledge, and collaborative working style are key. Participation in professional organizations is welcomed but not mandatory.
salary.
$100,000 – $120,000, based on experience, credentials, and market considerations.
