Our client is seeking an experienced Hydrology and Hydraulics Engineer to join their water resources team in either Dallas or Houston. This role is designed for a technically strong professional who can lead hydrologic and hydraulic analysis efforts while supporting project delivery for infrastructure and flood management initiatives.


Our client provides engineering consulting services for public and private sector projects, including stormwater management, flood risk analysis, and civil infrastructure planning. Their teams work collaboratively to deliver innovative solutions for complex water resource challenges.


This position offers opportunities to lead projects, mentor engineers, and contribute to business development within a dynamic consulting environment.


responsibilities.

  • Lead hydrology and hydraulics projects from planning through completion for public and private sector clients.

  • Perform and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic analyses related to stormwater systems, flood studies, and infrastructure design.

  • Utilize modeling tools such as HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D) to evaluate watershed behavior and hydraulic conditions.

  • Review and approve technical reports, calculations, and design documents.

  • Present technical findings and recommendations to clients and project stakeholders.

  • Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil engineers, planners, and environmental specialists.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and support business development through proposals and project planning.

  • Ensure projects meet regulatory requirements and engineering best practices.


qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

  • 10+ years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, or water resources engineering.

  • Advanced proficiency in HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS modeling.

    Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects and leading technical teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
