Senior Engineer – Water Resources | Omaha, NE

Our client is seeking a Senior Engineer to strengthen their water resources team in Omaha, Nebraska. They’re looking for a seasoned professional with advanced technical knowledge, strong design intuition, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams. The organisation delivers comprehensive engineering and consulting services for water, stormwater, and environmental infrastructure.

responsibilities.

• Serve as a technical specialist, shaping design strategies and applying advanced engineering methods

• Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency across deliverables

• Mentor and oversee junior and mid-level technical staff, supporting their professional development

• Provide direction on best-practice methodologies and research specialised topics when needed

• Collaborate with project managers to deliver efficient, well-coordinated project outcomes

• Lead and review complex design components across water and stormwater projects

• Contribute to refining internal standards and improving design processes

qualifications.

• Experience in stormwater or broader water resources engineering

• Familiarity with hydrologic/hydraulic modelling, master planning, stream restoration, or dam/levee-related work is beneficial

• Eight or more years of engineering experience, with at least four years mentoring or leading technical staff

• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence both technical direction and project outcomes

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering

• Professional Engineer (PE) licence
