A well known Texas-based organization is seeking a Senior Stormwater Engineer (PE) to join their team in Dallas, TX. The firm focuses on stormwater management and water resources projects, offering an excellent opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with experience in hydrology and hydraulics. The role provides an opportunity to lead key design projects, train and mentor staff, and work closely with a variety of stakeholders, including local, state, and federal entities.

  • Demonstrating technical proficiency with industry-standard hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, along with other drainage calculations

  • Serving as the primary signing engineer on various stormwater management and water resources projects

  • Engaging in frequent written and verbal communication with local, state, federal, and private entities

  • Managing schedules and budgets for multiple ongoing projects across various clients

  • Providing training and oversight to staff with varying levels of experience

  • Attending and leading client meetings

The ideal candidate should be a Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in Texas with at least five (5) years of experience in managing and performing hydrology and hydraulics-related projects. The position demands the ability to conduct routine engineering work on stormwater modeling using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.


qualifications.

  • Extensive, proven technical experience using industry-standard software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, Autocad, and Microsoft Office products (Experience with other hydraulic software is a plus)

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and an active P.E. license in Texas (Licensure in other states is a plus)

  • In-depth knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic principles, including the Rational Method, Unit Hydrograph Methods, Manning’s Equation, and tabular closed system analyses

  • Familiarity with Texas Dam Safety Regulations and dam breach analysis methods is a plus

  • Ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects while training and utilizing younger staff

  • Experience with FEMA LOMC submittals and coordination is preferred

  • Strong technical writing skills
