This role leads complex civil engineering design projects across commercial, institutional, and infrastructure sectors. As a Senior Project Manager / Principal, you’ll oversee both technical and financial performance while developing and maintaining strong client relationships. You’ll guide project teams from initial concept through design, permitting, and delivery, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.


The position also includes active participation in business development, client engagement, and professional mentorship—helping to shape the next generation of engineers within the organization.


responsibilities.

  • Develop and maintain client relationships, ensuring consistent communication and project alignment.

  • Collaborate with other practice leaders to expand business opportunities and apply best practices.

    Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers in technical and professional growth.

  • Manage budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables for multiple concurrent projects.

  • Lead multidisciplinary civil design projects from proposal through completion.

  • Oversee and review design work for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

  • Represent the firm at client meetings, public hearings, and industry events.


qualifications.

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary projects that include survey, environmental, and geotechnical components.

  • Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, and WaterCAD.

  • 15+ years of professional experience in civil design and project management.

  • Proven ability to lead teams and perform technical review of deliverables.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).

  • Strong proposal writing and client interface skills.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
