This engineering group supports land development and infrastructure projects throughout the region. They are expanding their Kansas City office with a Senior Project Engineer who can bring strong technical judgment, design capability, and project coordination skills to their established civil design team.


responsibilities.

The Senior Project Engineer handles a range of civil engineering tasks, including site design, grading, paving, and drainage calculations for development projects. You’ll prepare plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates; lead or delegate production efforts; and support design decisions throughout the project lifecycle. The role calls for close collaboration with fellow engineers, technicians, and project managers while maintaining clarity on deliverables, timelines, and technical standards. You’ll participate in presentations, interface with clients when needed, and contribute to efficient project execution across multiple active assignments.


qualifications.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) with roughly 8–10 years of experience, or equivalent senior-level background

  • Strong ability to produce civil construction plans, including grading and paving design

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited institution

  • Skilled at prioritizing multiple project demands and managing time effectively

  • Able to collaborate with a wide mix of technical personalities and work styles

  • Well-developed organizational habits and strong attention to detail

  • Experience developing stormwater and sanitary drainage studies

  • Confident presenting technical information to varied audiences

  • Comfortable working independently and within project teams

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Strong writing and verbal skills
