Our client is seeking a Florida Water/Wastewater Business Development Leader to drive strategic growth and strengthen client relationships across Florida’s municipal, utility, industrial, and regulatory water markets. This senior leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineering professional who combines technical expertise with business development acumen and a passion for advancing critical infrastructure programs.


Operating within the engineering and infrastructure consulting sector, our client delivers innovative solutions that support water quality, public health, environmental stewardship, and sustainable community growth. This role will play a key part in expanding market presence, leading major pursuits, and overseeing the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater projects throughout the region.


responsibilities.

  • Develop and execute strategic growth initiatives across water and wastewater markets throughout Florida

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with municipal, utility, industrial, and public-sector clients

  • Lead business development activities, identifying opportunities for new projects, programs, and recurring client engagements

  • Direct pursuit strategies for major infrastructure opportunities, including positioning, proposal development, and contract negotiations

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing both technical guidance and strategic insight

  • Provide executive-level oversight on complex water and wastewater treatment, conveyance, distribution, collection, and infrastructure projects

  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with technical standards, regulatory requirements, quality expectations, and client objectives

  • Oversee project financial performance, forecasting, resource planning, and risk management

  • Monitor emerging regulatory requirements, funding programs, and market trends that impact water infrastructure investment

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and sustainable infrastructure solutions

  • Mentor, coach, and develop engineering professionals while supporting succession planning and leadership development initiatives

  • Represent the organisation at industry conferences, professional associations, and client-facing events to strengthen market visibility and brand presence


qualifications.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Professional Engineer (PE) licence required

  • Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE) certification preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience within the water and wastewater sector

  • Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and securing major project pursuits

  • Strong technical expertise in water treatment, wastewater treatment, collection systems, distribution systems, and supporting infrastructure

  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex infrastructure projects

  • Strong understanding of quality assurance, quality control, regulatory compliance, and industry standards

  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience working with municipal utilities, government agencies, industrial clients, or regulated environments


salary.

$150,000 - $200,000 annually

Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, professional credentials, and overall market alignment.
