Our client is seeking a Drainage Engineer (EI/EIT) to join its growing transportation infrastructure team in Orlando. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early to mid-career engineering professional to contribute to complex highway and roadway projects across Florida while developing technical expertise within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The successful candidate will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams on a range of transportation and stormwater infrastructure projects. responsibilities.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for transportation drainage and conveyance systems
Support the analysis and design of roadway cross drains and culvert systems
Assist in the design of stormwater management and drainage facilities
Conduct floodplain compensation and drainage impact analyses
Prepare construction plans and supporting documentation in accordance with FDOT standards
Coordinate stormwater permitting activities with applicable state and regional agencies
Collaborate with roadway, structures, and utility teams to support integrated project delivery
Participate in technical meetings with internal teams, agencies, and clients
Assist with engineering calculations, reports, and design development for transportation infrastructure projects
qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
Approximately 2–6 years of experience in highway drainage or transportation drainage design preferred
Engineer Intern (EI) certification required
Working knowledge of FDOT design standards and procedures
Experience using engineering software such as MicroStation, GEOPAK Drainage, ICPR, and PONDS
Familiarity with ERP permitting requirements and water management district coordination considered an advantage
Exposure to bridge hydraulics and scour analysis is beneficial
Strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative project environment
