Our client — a long-standing infrastructure engineering firm known for delivering forward-thinking solutions across aviation, transportation, and water — is seeking a Transportation Drainage Senior Project Manager in Houston, Texas. responsibilities.

The Senior Project Manager will lead major transportation drainage projects across Texas, working closely with public-sector clients such as state agencies, regional mobility authorities, and local municipalities. They will oversee full project delivery—from proposal development and scope definition to hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, PS&E preparation, technical reports, and quality reviews. The role includes building strong client relationships, managing schedules and budgets, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors, and serving as a trusted advisor on drainage strategy and design.


This person will also support business development efforts by preparing proposals, presenting to clients, and identifying opportunities for growth. Alongside project leadership, they will mentor junior engineers, promote team development, and help cultivate a high-performance culture.


qualifications.

  • Candidates must hold (or be able to obtain within six months) a Texas Professional Engineer license.

  • 10+ years of experience in transportation drainage design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and PS&E preparation, including three years of project or task leadership.

  • Strong communication skills, client management experience, and the ability to lead teams effectively are key.

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering is required.

  • Proficiency with MicroStation, GEOPAK, or OpenRoads Designer (ORD).

  • Experience working on public-sector infrastructure projects.

  • Background in FEMA analyses, drainage impact studies, water quality design, and tools like HEC-HMS and ORD Drainage & Utilities.

  • Experience with advanced modeling software such as SWMM, InfoWorks ICM, and HEC-RAS 2D.

  • Pre-certifications in hydrologic studies and hydraulic design.
