Our client is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join their team in Austin, Texas. They are looking for a licensed Civil Engineer with a strong background in municipal utility infrastructure who can lead complex water and wastewater projects from planning through delivery.

responsibilities.

  • Lead planning, design, and execution of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects

  • Manage utility design efforts including treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, storage tanks, and hydraulic modeling

  • Direct and mentor junior engineers and technical staff to ensure high-quality deliverables

  • Oversee preparation of construction documents, specifications, and technical reports

  • Perform civil engineering analysis, calculations, and detailed design development

  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation

  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong working relationships

  • Support construction administration activities, including coordination and review

  • Contribute to business development efforts, including preparation of Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) and participation in client presentations


qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas, or ability to obtain Texas licensure within six months

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in municipal water and wastewater infrastructure design, including pipelines, pump stations, storage facilities, and treatment systems

  • At least 3 years of demonstrated project management experience with responsibility for budget and schedule control

  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams

  • Experience delivering presentations to City Councils or Boards
