Project Engineer – Water Resources | Omaha, NE

Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to join their expanding water resources group in Omaha, Nebraska. They are searching for an engineer who brings solid technical judgement, a collaborative mindset, and the confidence to take ownership of detailed design work. The organisation provides planning, modelling, permitting support, and design services for water and environmental projects across the region.

responsibilities.

• Lead technical design tasks for stormwater and water systems, including calculations, modelling, and cost estimates

• Develop and refine engineering approaches to meet project goals and regulatory requirements

• Prepare technical documents, reports, and design deliverables

• Coordinate with internal specialists to ensure integrated, high-quality solutions• Provide guidance and mentorship to early-career engineers and designers

• Support project managers with tracking progress, identifying risks, and planning scope and schedules

• Attend client meetings and perform occasional site visits to review existing conditions

qualifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering• Professional Engineer (PE) licence

• Six or more years of engineering experience, with a focus on water resources or stormwater design

• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling or related design tools

• Knowledge of master planning, stream restoration, or stormwater infrastructure design is advantageous

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
