A prominent environmental consulting and engineering firm is expanding its team and seeking a skilled mid-level Environmental Remediation Project Engineer for various offices in the US, including Atlanta, Georgia. Relocation assistance is available.

role.

The firm is looking for a Remediation Project Engineer with practical, hands-on experience in remediation technologies and equipment. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited to contribute to a wide range of projects that foster creativity and professional growth.


responsibilities.

  • Design and implement small to large-scale remediation systems for soil, groundwater, and vapor contamination under CERCLA, RCRA, and state regulations.

  • Manage the operation and maintenance (O&M) of remediation systems, troubleshoot issues, and collect operational data.

  • Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

  • Prepare feasibility studies, remedial action plans, design basis reports, and cost estimates.

  • Write and review technical reports, health and safety plans, and site assessment plans.

  • Develop strategies to address data gaps and determine remedial approaches.

  • Review and analyze data, including statistical evaluations and 3D modeling.

  • Contribute to the design of process and industrial wastewater systems.

  • Lead pilot studies and field testing for emerging contaminants.

  • Oversee on-site construction activities.


qualifications.

  • Proficiency in drafting remediation system designs, plans, specifications, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and material balances.

  • Experience with vapor mitigation, groundwater/soil remediation, and remediation O&M.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.

  • Strong understanding of groundwater/lithology characteristics and hydraulics.

  • Task and project management experience, including proposal preparation.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and travel regionally up to 35% annually.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle in the U.S.

  • 7 to 15 years of experience in environmental remediation.

  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.

  • P.E. License required.
