NCDOT Roadway Design Lead - Transportation | Asheville, NC

Our client is looking for an NCDOT Roadway Design Lead to join their Asheville, North Carolina office and build and lead a roadway and hydraulic design team focused on NCDOT work.

responsibilities.

You will lead, grow and mentor a team of project managers, engineers, designers and CAD technicians while driving NCDOT business development, from leading pursuits to preparing proposals. You will win and deliver work through the firm’s existing NCDOT limited services contracts (including Divisions, Feasibility Studies, Hydraulics Support and Roadside Aesthetics), coordinate with structures, geomatics and water resources colleagues, manage subconsultants, and put processes in place that align with NCDOT standards.

qualifications.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, transportation or a related field.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

• 10+ years of transportation design experience on NCDOT projects.

• A proven record of winning and delivering NCDOT work, with a deep understanding of NCDOT processes and procurement.

• Familiarity with AASHTO and MUTCD standards and Bentley OpenRoads Designer.

• Established relationships with North Carolina consulting firms and strong leadership skills.
