A prominent infrastructure and engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Water Resources Regional Lead in Austin or San Antonio to lead and grow its stormwater operations across Central Texas. This leadership role is an opportunity for a highly motivated professional to shape regional strategy, mentor a technical team, and oversee the delivery of critical municipal stormwater projects.


responsibilities.

  • Manage the design and implementation of complex stormwater and drainage projects, including flood mitigation, channel restoration, and master planning.

  • Oversee regional stormwater practices, cultivating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous growth.

  • Work with executive leadership to define and implement a long-term strategy for regional stormwater services.

  • Develop strong relationships with municipal clients, manages project pursuits, and leads proposal development and contract negotiations.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM) to ensure technical excellence and successful project delivery.


qualifications.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in municipal stormwater projects,

  • At least 3 years in a leadership or project management role

  • Demonstrated experience working with Central Texas municipalities, particularly the City of Austin

  • Proficiency in software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, or MicroStation

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience managing stormwater projects for the City of Austin or similar agencies

  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) designation

  • Expertise in FEMA floodplain modeling, floodplain mapping, and TCEQ water quality design

  • Familiarity with advanced tools such as XPSWMM, InfoWorks ICM, and HEC-RAS 2D

  • Background in streambank stabilization and natural channel design
