A well-respected full-service firm specializing in land planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, transportation, and surveying services is seeking a Technical Manager for their Water Resources team in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area. The Technical Manager will leverage their design expertise to tackle complex technical and design challenges while collaborating closely with Project Managers to turn client visions into reality. In addition to project responsibilities, this role will also involve mentoring and coaching Water Resources Designers and Project Engineers across all office locations.


responsibilities.

  • Design and produce civil engineering construction documents, including site plans, utility plans, design reports, and specifications.

  • Lead a production team, manage resources, and resolve technical and design issues while mentoring design professionals.

  • Design storm drainage systems, culverts, stormwater control measures, site grading, earthworks, and sediment/erosion control systems, and handle permitting.

  • Work within company standards and collaborate with project teams throughout all project phases, from concept design to construction administration.

  • Coordinate with architects, landscape architects, contractors, and owners to ensure project success.

  • Collaborate with local and third-party utility providers to address impacts related to projects.

  • Prepare local and FEMA flood studies.


qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field from an accredited program.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, storm drainage modeling software (HEC-HMS, StormCAD, HydraFlow, etc.), and flood modeling software (HEC-RAS).

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering.

  • Texas Professional Engineering (PE) license required.

  • Strong technical expertise in site civil engineering as it relates to stormwater management and natural resources.

  • The candidate should be prepared to provide work samples and/or complete a CAD assessment.

  • Experience in stormwater control design and flood studies is highly desirable.
