We are partnered with a reputable engineering firm, with over three decades of experience in the industry, committed to fostering long-term relationships and providing creative, sustainable engineering solutions. The company is looking for a full-time, Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE). This mid-level role will focus on overseeing mechanical and HVAC/Plumbing design projects across various sectors, including commercial, industrial, retail, medical, municipal, and educational. The responsibilities also include project management tasks such as managing budgets, scheduling, and reviewing construction documents.
The scope of mechanical systems design will involve chilled water systems, steam & hot water boiler systems, VAV systems, industrial process cooling, cooling towers, fume exhaust systems, ground source and water source heat pump systems, air conditioning units, and dust collection systems. This role offers an opportunity to develop both technical and client management skills and provides experience in managing full-scale MEP engineering projects.
responsibilities.
Designing HVAC installations and underground steam, gas, and compressed-air utilities
Planning for mechanical room sizes, anticipating future needs, and identifying conflicts
Reviewing construction documents and performing construction administration duties
Understanding mechanical and plumbing system requirements and applications
Managing mechanical engineering tasks for small-scale projects
Supervising the installation of mechanical systems and utilities
Preparing cost estimates, specifications, and design analyses
Attending client meetings to represent mechanical interests
Designing constant and variable volume ductwork systems
Balancing workload across multiple projects
required.
At least 2 years of licensed experience designing HVAC/Plumbing systems for commercial and industrial buildings
A Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to transfer the license to the relevant state within six months
A degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Active involvement or leadership in professional engineering associations such as ASHRAE, ASPE, or TSPE
Experience in consulting, designing for commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, and hospitality projects
Familiarity with HAP, Trace, Bluebeam, and vendor-specific software

This full-time, exempt position expects a 40-hour workweek, with flexible scheduling options such as five 8-hour days or four 9-hour days, including a half-day on Friday. While overtime is not mandatory, it may be requested to meet client needs. Consistent work hours should include core business hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
